Dr. Reza Jarrahy
Dr. Jarrahy is a Board Certified plastic surgeon who specializes in pediatric craniofacial reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body. Dr. Jarrahy received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He completed his general surgery training at New York University Medical center and at the University of California San Diego Medical Center. After finishing his Plastic Surgery Residency and Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship in the prestigious Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCLA, Dr. Jarrahy joined the full-time faculty at UCLA as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Jarrahy takes care of patients with rare and complicated craniofacial disorders who come to UCLA from all over the nation and the world. He also travels abroad on an annual basis to assist in the care of craniofacial patients at a sister craniofacial unit in Brazil. He sits on the Board of Directors and Medical Board of Facing Forward, a non-profit organization that assists patients with congenital craniofacial disorders obtain medical and surgical care. He is also a member of multiple notable medical and surgical societies.
In addition to craniofacial surgery, Dr. Jarrahy’s other areas of clinical interest and expertise include cosmetic surgery procedures of the face and neck, breasts, and body, such as facial rejuvenation, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, and body contouring. He also applies his attention to detail in minimally invasive techniques such as fat grafting, filler injection and skin resurfacing.
Dr. Jarrahy is actively involved in ongoing basic science and clinical research. He has authored many peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and has been invited to speak at numerous national and international conferences. His current basic science research focus is in tissue engineering of bone, to facilitate the care of patients who have bone loss from congenital, traumatic, or surgical causes.
Dr. J. Brian Boyd
Born Northern Ireland, Dr. Boyd grew up in Manchester, England and won a W.H. Rhodes Scholarship to Canada before attending Liverpool Medical School. After graduating with distinction at the age of 23, he taught Anatomy at the University and later trained in General Surgery, attaining the F.R.C.S. in London in 1976. He went on to complete a postgraduate degree in Embryology where an interest in developmental abnormalities led him to pursue a career in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
He completed a Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Toronto followed by a fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery. Then, after a year at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia as a Microsurgery Fellow, he returned to the University of Toronto in 1983. He practiced at the Toronto General Hospital as part of the full-time teaching faculty in the Division of Plastic Surgery until 1994 when he was recruited by the Cleveland Clinic Florida to become Chairman of Plastic Surgery. His time at the Cleveland Clinic culminated in his developing a brand new residency in Plastic Surgery recognized by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the first new Plastic Surgery residency in Florida for over 20 years.
In 2005, he joined the full-time faculty at U.C.L.A. and am currently Professor of Surgery with the David Geffen School of Medicine at U.C.L.A., and Chief of Plastic Surgery at Harbor-U.C.L.A. Medical Center. He has published over 120 articles and chapters in the peer-reviewed medical literature and belongs to over 15 national and international medical societies. He maintains his academic skills not only by teaching but as an associate editor for two major U.S. plastic surgery journals and as a reviewer for others. He maintain his Boards in Plastic Surgery in both Canada and the United States.
Presently, he specializes in breast reconstruction and aesthetic surgery. His microsurgery skills, honed over 25 years, allows him to employ the latest techniques of muscle-sparing free flap breast reconstruction, and permits a more precise approach to the maintenance of form and function, as well as the surgical enhancement of beauty.
Dr. Patrick Treacy
Dr. Patrick Treacy is Chairman of the Irish Association of Cosmetic Doctors and Irish Regional Representative of the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors. Honorary Board Member of the World Medical Trichologist Association. Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and the Royal Society of Arts. (London). Honorary Ambassador to the Michael Jackson Legacy Foundation and the Haiti Leadership Foundation, which opened orphanages in both Haiti and Liberia. He holds Honours Degrees in Molecular Biology and Medicine. He was the recipient of the Norman Rae Gold medal from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin. He has also received many national and international academic awards including the MyFaceMyBody Awards in London both in 2012, 2013 and 2016 for innovations in Aesthetic Medicine and Hair Transplant. He also won the prestigious AMEC Award in Paris both in 2014 and 2016 for research relating to cancer patients and complications due to dermal fillers. His clinic won ‘Best Aesthetic Clinic in Ireland 2016’ and he was runner up in ‘Best Aesthetic Doctor of the Year UK & Ireland 2016’.
He has authored or co-authored more than 200 articles in medical and scientific journals and published many peer-reviewed papers within these disciplines, including a sentinel study on the rising incidence of cutaneous malignant melanoma for the Mayo Clinic, Rochester in 1990. He pioneered facial implant techniques for HIV related facial lipodystrophy and early radiosurgery venous thermocoagulation. He won innovation awards for the use of 633nm phototherapy in facial rejuvenation and the use of platelets in hair transplantation. He is an advanced aesthetic trainer and has trained over 800 doctors and nurses from around the world.
He is a renowned international guest speaker and features regularly on national television and radio programmes. He has featured on the Today Show, Ireland AM, CNN, Dr. Drew, RTE, TV3, Sky News, BBC and Newsweek.
